#3516 – Shelter & Shadow

Good morning people who live under and sit near Almighty God

We are meditating on Psalm 91 and asking Father to open our eyes to see how He wants us to see. Here’s another thought from verse 1:

Psalm 91:1 NIV Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

God doesn’t waste words. If He says something, it is significant.

As ‘dwelling’ precedes and facilitates ‘resting’, so too does ‘in the shelter’ precede and facilitate ‘in the shadow’.

If we get our dwelling place right, then I believe we will experience God’s reality when we are in difficult places.

Put another way, if God is our dwelling place (we live in His shelter), then even when we are ‘in the world’, we can walk in His rest because we are still under His shadow.

Sometimes we are in a place where we don’t feel God, but as people who are IN CHRIST, we are always under God’s shadow.

Here’s the lovely news for us all today: You can’t be under a shadow unless you are near the origin of the shadow.

Let’s give thanks today for God’s nearness, even when we don’t feel Him. Let this truth be deep rest for our souls.
