Good morning people who do not grow weary and give up along the way
My heart is stirred, and I am compelled to look at the first few words of our scripture from yesterday:
Hebrews 11:13 NIV All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance, admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on earth.
There is a connection between ‘keeping our eyes on the joy set before us’ and ‘walking through this life with purpose and passion’.
Jesus was able to ‘endure the cross’ because He kept His focus on ‘the joy that was set before Him’ (Hebrews 12:2). This is not escapism – it is the right focus.
We too are called to follow His example and the example of the ‘great cloud of witnesses’ mentioned in Hebrews 12:1 and that is referenced (in part) in our verse for today.
I don’t want to have faith for a moment, and then be derailed because of the realities of life. I want to live by faith and still be in faith when Father calls me home to glory.
“How about you?”
May God be large in our vision and may we never forget our heavenly home that He is preparing for us.
