Good morning people whose God is Light

John 1:4-5 (GW) He was the source of life, and that life was the light for humanity. The light shines in the dark, and the dark has never extinguished it.

God is Light. Light brings illumination. Light helps us to see clearly so we know the right way to go. Light is pure and uncontaminated. Light brings peace and security.

Light gives life. God has come that we might have life and life more abundantly. He can give this because He is Life and this Life comes from the Light.

The most powerful force in the world is not darkness but light. A little light can illuminate darkness much more than a little darkness can illuminate light. I love the truth that God is the Light that shines in the darkness and the darkness cannot extinguish it. God’s Light is more powerful than the darkest evil. This is great news and should bring confidence to our hearts.

As children born of God, we now have the privilege of living in this Light and becoming little lights in this dark world. This is a passing on of the baton from Jesus to us. What a privilege! What a joy!

Matthew 5:14-16 You are the light of the world (that’s us!). A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

“Father we are truly thankful for your light. We thank You that You light our path and make our steps sure. We also thank You for the privilege of reflecting your light in this dark world. Please help us to shine bright for You and to bring You glory with our lives.”
