Good morning people who follow the leading of the Holy Spirit every day

In our desire to see people take responsibility for their life and to live it to the fullest, we must ensure we are not promoting being ‘self-led’, but rather, being ‘Spirit-led’. They are not the same.

Sometimes when people are wandering aimlessly in life, we can try to be encouraging by saying statements like, ”What do you want to do with your life? You can do anything you set your mind to!”

While the intention is good, I’m concerned by the focus – ‘you’.

You’ve heard me state these scriptures many times, but the truth of God’s Word declares God has a plan for our life (Jeremiah 29:11) and that He has prepared in advance some good works for us to do (Ephesians 2:10).

I don’t want to sound like a broken record, but it’s not about ‘our plans for our life’ – it’s about ‘God’s plans for His child’s life’. It’s about God’s will being done – not our will for ourselves (Luke 22:42).

“Are you living a ‘self-led’ life or a ‘Spirit-led’ life? Would God Himself agree with your assessment?”
