Good morning people know who has limited and who has unlimited power

I was recently reading Luke 4:1-13. This is the account of Jesus being tempted in the wilderness by the devil. While reading it, I felt prompted to look at a Commentary (this is not something I can recall doing previously).

As I read Ellicott’s Commentary, the following phrase leapt off the page:

‘The devil has superhuman but limited power’.

I just felt this put the devil in his place; into right perspective.

Yes he has superhuman power – we know that – but I think we need a reminder that it is limited.

We need to remember the devil is a created being, just like the angels.

Therefore, he is no match for our great God!

God alone has unlimited power, and He lives in us!
