#3362 – No Rash Vows

Good morning people who are fully committed to fulfil their vows

Proverbs 20:25 NIV It is a trap to dedicate something rashly and only later to consider one’s vows.

We live in a time of ‘casual’ and ‘while-it-suits-me’ relationships. This is both naturally, but also and even more disturbing, it is too often spiritually.

Let’s talk naturally for a moment:

Marriage is not a decision to be made rashly. Marriage is a God-created relationship that involves a covenantal commitment. Oh how there needs to be reawakening of Father’s original design and intention for marriage!

I once read: ‘If you want to know if you married the right person, check the name on the marriage certificate’. It’s time to honour the vows we made to our spouse before God and Man.

And spiritually:

Following Jesus is not to be a casual decision, made lightly, with no cost or requirements. It is to be a whole-hearted, fully-abandoned, ‘everything Lord’ vow and commitment to God Almighty. Anything less is not worthy of Him.

“Is there a vow that you have made that you need to take more seriously today?”
