Good morning honouring people
Proverbs 18:17 The first to present his case seems right, till another comes forward and questions him.
Here’s a great piece of advice from my dad: ‘No matter how thinly you slice a piece of bread there are always two sides.’
Many conversations turn to battles when we think we are completely right and the other person is completely wrong. Many times we hear about a situation where someone has done something wrong in a relationship and we think the worst of them and believe the best of the other person involved.
When we are personally involved, we should be quicker to ask God “Is there anything in me that needs to be changed?” This humble response allows God to shine the spotlight on us and gives us the opportunity to remove the log in our own eye. My experience is when I have done this first it’s amazing how much the other person seems to have changed. Is it possible that I had faults too? Surely not!
When we hear about someone else, we should be slower to condemn them as 100% guilty and the other person 100% innocent. Sometimes this might be the case but it is not that often.
Let’s be wise in our relationships. Let’s believe the best and always listen to the other side as well. Let’s walk in humility and love.
