#3332 – Nameless Faces

Good morning people who hear God speak in the difficult passages of the Bible

As I am reading through the Bible, I find myself in 1 Chronicles – not Corinthians – Chronicles. Honestly, this is one of the portions of the Bible that I don’t tend to get much revelation from. In fact, if I’m really honest, I probably don’t look for any because I just want to get past it to the parts where God speaks to me and which contain the stories that I like.

But today, I stopped and I asked Father to speak to me. I paused and thought to myself that if God felt it was important to include it in His Word, then it must contain something in it for me.

Almost immediately He spoke.

Following is a small part of the verses I was reading:

1 Chronicles 2:50-53 NIV These were the descendants of Caleb. The sons of Hur the firstborn of Ephrathah: Shobal the father of Kiriath Jearim, Salma the father of Bethlehem, and Hareph the father of Beth Gader. The descendants of Shobal the father of Kiriath Jearim were: Haroeh, half the Manahathites, and the clans of Kiriath Jearim: the Ithrites, Puthites, Shumathites and Mishraites. From these descended the Zorathites and Eshtaolites.

And here’s what God said:

“Every person – every faceless name – is important to Me.”

WOW! So simple, yet so profound!

That person you walk past on the street is important to God. That person at your work who nobody really knows or speaks to is important to God. That child in Africa who we see on the TV is important to God. That person you and I will never hear about from that country we don’t even know exists is important to God.

After all, He created every person in all of history and He did it because He loves them and desires relationship with them. People matter because God made them and He loves them.
