#3238 – Not Worthy

Good morning people who have reverential fear of the Lord

John 1:26-27 NIV “I baptise with water,” John replied, “but among you stands one you do not know. He is the one who comes after me, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.”

Jesus referred to John the Baptist as ‘the greatest born among women’ (Matthew 11:11).

Yet John the Baptist rightfully knew that he himself was not even worthy to untie Jesus’ sandals.

It is imperative for all those who walk with God and are used powerfully by God to never lose perspective – in and of ourselves, we are not worthy to even approach God.

This is not about devaluing us, but about accurately and appropriately valuing God.

May we always walk in humility before God and people, and may we always remember – it’s all about Him.

He alone is worthy to receive glory, honour and praise.
