Good morning people with a wise God
Andy Stanley says the most important question to ask in any situation is “What is the wise thing to do?” He is right. But where does wisdom come from?
James 1:5-8 If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.
This passage is clear; wisdom comes from God. Knowledge, understanding, skill development and education can all come from man but I believe true wisdom can only come from God.
I also love the fact that God gives it generously. Isn’t that great! God doesn’t find fault with people when they ask Him for wisdom. He doesn’t say, “But you’ve done this and you’ve done that”. No, God gives wisdom generously but He does have one requirement and that is we must ask in faith. This faith is a reliance on God and His truthfulness. Remember the Bible says ‘Know the truth (what God says about something), and the truth will set you free’.
We all need to live our lives in a wise way and wisdom comes from a generous God. Ask Him for wisdom today and then trust Him enough to do what He says.
