Good morning faithful servants of God
Do you want to be great in God’s Kingdom? Do you want to make a significant impact on others? Do you want to bring incredible pleasure to our wonderful heavenly Father? I do and I’m sure you do too.
There’s a story in Mark 10:35-45 where some of the disciples ask to sit in the place of recognition with God. Here’s Jesus’ response to them.
Mark 10:42-45 Jesus called them together and said, “You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
Even the Son of Man (Jesus) did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life for many. Wow! What a powerful example to all of us today. The Creator served the created. If it was good enough for Jesus, then it’s good enough for all of us. Remember Jesus brought His Father pleasure and it was by serving others.
Today let’s make our focus serving others. Let’s give of ourselves knowing that God is honoured as we serve others faithfully. Let’s not measure our success by how much we get ahead but by how much we serve and honour people. Today can be a significant day; a day where we serve faithfully.
