Good morning people who love the Church
The Church is God’s plan and He loves it. He gave His life for the Church. He gained victory over the enemy for the Church. He gave gifts to people for the Church. Bill Hybels says ‘The Church is the hope of the world’ and he’s absolutely right.
Ephesians 4:11-14 It was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
God’s plan for the Church is the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Just think about that for a moment. Are we there yet? No. Is this God’s plan and is this what we need to be praying for, believing for and moving towards? Yes.
Here’s a few things stated in this passage that we will see when the Church is like Christ. There will be unity in the faith, people will have a deep knowledge of God and we will be spiritually mature and like Jesus in our character. I believe the world will gravitate towards a Church like this as they did to Jesus Christ.
I believe one of the best things we can do is pray for the Church and love the Church. Sure it’s easy to see some of the faults but none of us are perfect. We’re in this together and we (the Church) are the hope of a lost and dying world.
