Good morning gifted people of God
1 Corinthians 12 is a great passage on spiritual gifts. I encourage you to meditate on it this week and enjoy the fullness of these words. Here’s a few thoughts to get the ball rolling.
12:1 Don’t be ignorant about spiritual gifts. It’s good to understand spiritual gifts and to discover the purpose of them and what yours are. It’s also good to consider the laws that govern their use.
12:4-6 There are different gifts but they all come from the same God. This is important because God is not in competition with anyone and He doesn’t want us to be either. You have gifts and they were given to you by God.
12:7 The purpose of spiritual gifts is for the common good. This is one of the most important lessons from this passage. Sometimes spiritual gifts can be used selfishly, that is never God’s intention. God gave to bless; He always has and He always will. We must always use our spiritual gifts to bless the Church.
12:11 God gives gifts, we don’t choose them. When we understand this, it leaves no place for jealousy or insecurity because it’s about what God gave, not what we have or can do.
Let’s look at some more tomorrow.
