#2982 – Representing Well

Good morning people who are so much like Jesus that people are attracted to God

Sometimes I come across a rich scripture that is so full of life-giving insights that we would do well to just meditate on it for a while. Here’s one below:

1 Corinthians 13:3-7 (MSG) If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love. Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self. Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have. Love doesn’t strut, Doesn’t have a swelled head, Doesn’t force itself on others, Isn’t always “me first,” Doesn’t fly off the handle, Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others, Doesn’t revel when others grovel, Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth, Puts up with anything, Trusts God always, Always looks for the best, Never looks back, But keeps going to the end.

I believe every line is powerful, but today I really want to encourage us to be people who don’t fly off the handleand who ‘always look for the best‘.  Patience and kindness should be the hallmark of a Christian’s life, not frustration and lashing out. Too many times we excuse away what we do.

It’s time to look for the best in others and to call out people’s potential. It’s time to represent Father well.
