#2647 – Resolved Christians

Good morning people who are firmly committed to doing things God’s way

Yes Daniel did not let difficulty contaminate him, but there are a few key words I want to draw our attention to. Let’s look at the first one this morning.

Daniel 1:8 (NIV) But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way.

The first word is ‘resolved’. Daniel resolved not to defile himself.

This word ‘resolved’ is a word that we need back in our language and culture today. This word denotes a firm determination to do something. In fact, when someone is resolved, they have made up their mind; “That’s it – I’m DOING this!”

In our walk with God, in our pursuit of holiness, in our commitment to love, we need to be people who are resolved.

Casual Christianity is an oxymoron; it is not acceptable to God nor is it helpful to others. We need to be resolved Christians; ones who are firmly determined in our faith and love.

“What things would God like you to be resolved in today?”
