#2332 –Radiant Christians

Good morning people who have a delightful countenance

Psalm 34:5 (NIV) Those who look to Him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.

Radiant Christians – what a lovely thought! I love this!

‘Those who look to Him are radiant‘. This word ‘radiant’ in the King James Version is the word ‘lightened’ and this is what Strong’s defines it as: ‘to sparkle, to be cheerful; hence (from the sheen of a running stream) to flow, be lightened’. I love all of this!

When we look at Jesus rather than our circumstances, our challenges, our disappointments and our questions, then we start to sparkle – we are cheerful, so cheerful in fact, that there is a sheen, a shine, on us from the wonderful flowing river of God Who lives in us! We become light in our countenance!

Those people who look to God, ‘their faces are never covered with shame‘. This word means: ‘to blush, to be ashamed, disappointed, to shame, reproach, confounded, to be brought to confusion, be put to shame’.

The right place to look in life is into the face of God. It is right simply because it is right, not because it has a positive impact in our life…but that said, it does also have a wonderful impact in our life as a result!

Many Christians lack a cheerful, light, contented, shame-free countenance, but there is a cure, and that cure is to continually look upon the face of God. It really is true: ‘In His presence, there is fullness of joy’.

“Is it possible we need to spend more time delighting in His presence?”

“Is it possible we need to think about the Lord and His goodness more?”
