#2298 – Not Deserved

Good morning people who are privileged to be loved by God

Psalm 106:4 (NIV) Remember me, Lord, when You show favor to Your people, come to my aid when You save them.

The writer of this Psalm did not take for granted the love and acceptance of God. There was no sense of entitlement, self-righteousness or “I deserve to have God’s love and kindness!”.

He knew that everything God gave, and everything God did, was a gift to be treasured.

Therefore, he knew that to be remembered by God was a privilege, not a right.

He knew that to be helped by God was a humbling blessing, not something he deserved.

“How do we approach God and His goodness?”

I fear too many Christians take God for granted.

We are blessed, privileged and honoured beyond words to be loved by God and to be able to walk in friendship with God.

We deserved punishment. God gave amazing grace.

Psalm 103:7-12 (NIV) He made known His ways to Moses, His deeds to the people of Israel: The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will He harbor His anger forever; He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.

God is nice 🙂
