#2244 – Who God Is

Good morning people who celebrate Who Jesus is

We have been looking at the following phrase that God recently spoke to my heart: Change your perspective and keep on looking at the Light.

Today I want to have a look at the second part: Keep on looking at the Light.

Here’s the first thought: Focus on God Himself.

So often we can focus on the teachings of Christ – what He says (and this is so important), but I feel we need a greater focus on Christ Himself – Who He is.

John 1:1-5 (NIV) 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

John 8:12 (NIV) When Jesus spoke again to the people, He said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Jesus doesn’t just bring light into the world – He is the Light of the world. His life – Who He is – is the light of all mankind.

And so today, I simply want to encourage you to keep on looking at the Light; at Jesus Himself. When He is our focus, when He is Who we keep our eyes fixed on, then darkness loses its power, because He is incomparably greater than the blackest darkness.
