#2216 – God’s Fullness

Good morning people who live in the fullness of Almighty God

Colossians 3:5-10 (NIV) Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.

WOW! God invites me to live a God-honouring life because of the fullness of God Who lives fully in me!!!

I use to strive to be holy and good. I wore myself out on my religious efforts; my law-based Christianity. Although I knew I was originally saved by grace, I had subtly and devastatingly stepped into trying to sustain my salvation by good works. However well I was doing, condemnation was only one small self-willed decision away.

Then God revealed the power of Who He is and what He has done! God started to undo my law-based theology that sprinkled God on my own efforts. I started to see that God is my righteousness! I started to see that God is my Perfection! I started to see that God’s Son in me is much greater than my moments of sin! I started to make it more about God and less about me.

The result was and is freedom! This freedom is not freedom to do what I want – that had always resulted in poor choices and painful consequences. No, this freedom is freedom to be all God created me to be: to be fully alive, holy, righteous, blameless and at peace in Him.

As I continue in my new found freedom in Christ, I am learning that an increased revelation of God results in a greater capacity to walk in the fruit of the Holy Spirit. As I behold Him, I become like Him. I am continuing to understand it is more about Him and less about me. This is the right way. This is the better way. This is the nice way.
