#2188 – Keep Fighting

Good morning people who keep their spiritual armour on at all times

Nehemiah 4:21-23 (NIV) So we continued the work with half the men holding spears, from the first light of dawn till the stars came out. At that time I also said to the people, “Have every man and his helper stay inside Jerusalem at night, so they can serve us as guards by night and as workers by day.” Neither I nor my brothers nor my men nor the guards with me took off our clothes; each had his weapon, even when he went for water.

I understand that the battle can get wearisome. Some of you just want to step away for a while. But the truth is that the enemy doesn’t take days off.

Now we need to remember: God is greater than any enemy that can oppose us! But that doesn’t mean the battle is over.

“So what are we to do?”

Never ever take your spiritual armour off. Never ever step away from the spiritual battle and declare you have had enough. Never ever think the enemy has given up and you have no need to be alert. Never ever become complacent and lethargic. Never ever buy into the enemy’s lie that says it is harder on you than it is on others.

You must stay vigilant. You must stay alert. You must keep your armour on.

And the best way to do this is not by striving, but by abiding.

The greatest spiritual armour is to be filled to overflowing with gratitude for the goodness of God and to live saturated daily in the Word of God.

Don’t fear…just abide and thrive.
