Good morning people who fight on behalf of others against a common enemy

We will either fight the battles assigned to us or we will fight battles not assigned to us…but we will fight battles.

Ephesians 6:11-12 (NIV) Put on the full armour of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle(we will have them) is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

If you are not fighting spiritual battles (the battles assigned to us), then you will fight natural battles (battles not assigned to us).

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (NIV) For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does (they fight natural battles; they fight people). The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds (not people). We demolish arguments(reasoning, thought, logic) and every pretension(high or elevated thing) that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought(perception) to make it obedient to Christ.

There is nothing passive in this passage! There is a battle on that we must fight, or we will lose by default.

Finally, some of these battles are not for you, but by you, on behalf of others (children, parents, pastors, friends, cities and nations…). Let’s be people who love people enough to fight spiritual battles for other people, rather than fight natural battles against them.
