#2125 – Worshippers First

Good morning people who love God Who first loved us

1 Samuel 16:23 (NIV) Whenever the spirit from God came on Saul, David would take up his lyre and play. Then relief would come to Saul; he would feel better, and the evil spirit would leave him.

David had been anointed by the prophet of the Lord to be the next king of Israel. There must have been a great stirring in David’s heart about what God wanted to do through him. There was a huge responsibility entrusted to him by the God Who had called him.

So what do we see David doing? He worshipped God in such a way that people were set free from demonic strongholds. This anointed man of God was first identified as a worshipper.

“What place does worship have in your life?”

Worship is not reserved for those who are problem-free. Sometimes people put their worship on hold while they are going through challenging situations. Sometimes people step back from worshipping the God Who created them because of questions they have. Sometimes our worship is given more to temporary things rather than our Eternal God.

Worship is right – it just is. Sometimes we need to come back to God’s pattern simply because it is God’s pattern; God’s way. I am the first to admit I don’t fully understand every “why” behind everything God has said. But that’s ok by me – I don’t need to understand fully because I trust God. He is faithful to Himself and His Word. He cannot lie. He is always good and He is always working for my good.

And so I live my life to worship God – in speech, life, love, faith and purity.

“How about you?”
