#2108 – Generous People

Good morning people who live to give and be a blessing

Proverbs 11:24-25 (NIV) One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.

Generosity is an economy of heaven.

God by His very nature is a Giver. He always gives His best and He gives extravagantly. He always gives for our best and to do us good. God is a generous God.

As ones created in His image, we are created to be generous too.

Generosity is counter-cultural and goes against common sense. The logical equation is: the more you keep, the more you have. But God’s way is different (it always is). God says: if you give, you gain more. If you hold on for yourself, you’ll end up in poverty.

Sometimes the poverty that comes to people who keep everything for themselves is a monetary poverty, but it is often accompanied by a poverty of soul.

There is something godly about being generous and being a blessing to others. The beauty is that as we give, God pours back into us. I know from personal experience that being generous results in a deep joy that nothing else can bring. I’ll say it again: generosity is an economy of heaven.
