Good morning people who love others like Jesus does

John 13:34-35(NIV) “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.”

Jesus moved in the power of the Holy Spirit and washed His disciples’ feet. Jesus preached to crowds of thousands and spent time with the little children. Jesus boldly spoke of a higher way and yet did not judge the woman caught in adultery. Jesus violently turned over the money tables in the temple and He was moved with compassion for hurting people.

Jesus was and is our perfect example.

The greatest evidence to God that we are a disciple is by our deepening love for God. This is something that only God can see.

But the greatest evidence to people that we are a disciple is by our deepening love for others. This is something that people can see, as evidenced by our actions, attitudes and selflessness.

As I have said before, you can love people and not love God, but you cannot love God and not love people. I believe our love for people perfectly flows from our love for God, and more importantly, God’s love for us. It’s as we receive a greater revelation of just how much God loves us, that we are empowered to love people more.
