#2078 – Look Up

Good morning people who know God is Who and what we need

2 Peter 1:1-4 (NIV) Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours: Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness. Through these He has given us His very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

Have you found it difficult to walk in the divine nature? Have you found it difficult to walk in a godly way rather than following evil desires? At times we have all found it difficult and felt like “we can’t get it right”.

But there are some keys in this passage, and I see a progression and an order. Here it is:

Knowing God more (will result in) knowing God’s glory and goodness more (which is the correct foundation to) knowing God’s great and precious promises (which, when walked in, will result in) participating in God’s divine nature.

The truth for a Believer is that we do have a divine nature. We are now dead to sin and alive to Christ. We no longer live but Christ lives in us. But we need to see ourselves this way.

The best way to do this is to focus on the above. Let’s set our hearts to know God more. Too often our focus is more on us than on God. As we lift our eyes to Him, we will discover how good He is. The Bible tells us to ‘taste and see the Lord is good’. We need a revelation of this. From this place, we will start to see and be positively overwhelmed by the numerous incredible powerful promises of God to us. He truly does become the power for walking in freedom!

As mentioned, it starts with shifting our focus from us to God. Today I encourage you to stop looking in and start looking up. God is the Answer you need.
