#2076 – Walk Through

Good morning people passing through difficulty on their way to glory

The challenge with very well-known verses is we can sometimes gloss over or minimise the power of what God says. Today I pray we have a revelation of the following often quoted verse.

Psalm 23:4 (NKJV) Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

The valley of the shadow of death is not a place that we are meant to take up residence in, but rather a place we are meant to walk through. Sometimes this journey can take a long time, and sometimes there are certain things that are beyond our control. God forbid I trivialize your journey; that is not my desire or intention. But I do want to encourage us to view it as something we walk through.

“How is this possible?”

The key is a revelation, a deep unshakeable conviction that God is with us. Now I know that we “know” it, but do we really believe it? Do we believe that God Himself is literally walking with us? Do we believe it is not the overflow, or presence, or anointing of God alone (as if it is something separate from God Himself), but it is the very Person of God who walks with us?

Do we believe He knows the way out? Do we believe that He is able to sustain us and empower us along the way? Do we believe He can be our joy and our peace, yes even while we are still walking through the valley of the shadow of death? Do we believe He is all we need to walk through in a God-honouring and people-honouring way?

And this verse says Your rod and Your staff comfort me. God’s rod is God’s authority and power. Do you believe God is the highest authority in your life? Do you believe when things are out of control that God is still in control when we stay submitted to Him? God’s staff is God’s support. When you feel like nobody understands and nobody can help you, God understands and God is your reliable and unchanging support. Will you lean on Him today?

It’s time to pack up your camping ground and walk through
