#2062 – Good News

Good morning people who are peacemakers

(Today’s BIY written by Pastor Garry Leech)

I believe we are called to fight for the relationships in our lives, not to fight against them.

Ephesians 6:14-15 (NIV) Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

Don’t walk away from people, but rather, walk towards them and take good news to the people you are in relationship with. Take the good news that you still want this relationship; that you still want this friendship; that you are willing to do all that you can to make this relationship flourish.

Don’t allow the enemy to separate you, but use the gospel of peace and walk towards people you’re in relationship with.

Be the peacemaker in the relationship; in other words, work at bringing peace to the relationship. This is what the Bible says about peacemakers:

Matthew 5:9 (NIV) Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

Hebrews 12:14 (NIV) Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.

Again, we can’t do this without God’s help, but we have His help! He lives in us and He is the Prince of Peace:

Isaiah 9:6 (NIV) For to us a child is born, to us a Son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Ask God to help you today; ask Him, “Is there something you want me to do to restore peace in this relationship?” Then lean into His power and be a peacemaker.
