#2060 – Belt of Truth

Good morning people who value and practice honesty

(Today’s BIY written by Pastor Garry Leech)

Ephesians 6:14 (NIV) Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place.

As we fight for people, let’s purpose to live in honesty and truthfulness in every relationship. Let’s also keep open and clear lines of communication.

Ephesians 4:15 (NIV) Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of Him who is the head, that is, Christ.

In other words, let God’s love be the motivation behind our words. This is easy to do to someone who is treating us well, but how about when someone has hurt us? How would Jesus talk to them about their words and actions? How would Jesus express the truth?

We need to understand it’s not just about truth – it’s about truth and love.

John 1:14 (NIV) The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and Only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

“Are our words seasoned with truth & love?”
