#2056 – Flowing Rivers

Good morning people who come to Jesus for refreshing

John 7:37-39 (NIV) On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to Me and drink. Whoever believes in Me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” By this He meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.

Oh how wonderful, precious and plentiful are the promises of God!!!

“Do you ever feel thirsty in life? Do you feel weary, burdened, worn down or burnt out?”

Jesus invites us to come to Him and He does so because only He has what we truly need. Sure plenty of other ‘things’ and other people promise to satisfy us, but at best, they are a temporary ‘fix’ to an ongoing need. Jesus Christ, and only Jesus Christ can truly satisfy a thirsty soul.

It’s not enough that we can come to Jesus and receive a refreshing drink in a time of need, but we are promised free-flowing rivers of living water within us!

The criteria for having streams of living water flow from within us, is us coming to Jesus. It’s not about perfection, but about coming to Him.

“Today will you come, just as you are? You will be refreshed.”
