#2025 – What Is Admirable

Good morning people who think and talk about the right things

Philippians 4:8 (NIV) Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

The word admirable here is the words good report in the King James Version. This means ‘well-spoken of, reputable’.

If we shouldn’t speak it, then we shouldn’t think it. Now that’s a great philosophy of life!

It’s time to think only about what we would be comfortable talking to God and our closest loved ones about. This is challenging, yes, but oh it is freeing!!! This becomes a really easy and clear filter for what we are thinking about.

Psalm 19:14 (NIV) May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in Your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

God knows our words and our thoughts, and both must be pleasing to Him. Therefore today, God invites us to speak right and to think right. If it’s not worth speaking about, don’t say it. If it’s not worth thinking about, don’t think it.

I think it is good to ask ourselves if what we are saying or thinking is going to benefit and do others good. If not, it’s probably best to redirect our thinking and say something different (I say this with the exception of talking to a trusted adviser who is helping you through a difficult situation).

Whatever is admirable, think on these things.
