Good morning people who join the patriarchs in their trust in God
Incredible trust in God despite obvious and real contradictions is not a new thing. Many men and women of faith were commended by God for their faith; their trust in God.
Hebrews 11:8-12 (NIV) By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God. And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered Him faithful who had made the promise. And so from this one man, and he as good as dead, came descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless as the sand on the seashore.
One evidence of our trust in God is our obedience to Him. Abraham trusted God and therefore he obeyed Him.
The truth is it’s easy to say we trust God, but is there an evidence of our trust?
My prayer for us all as we head into a New Year is that the evidence of our lives matches the confession of our mouths. May our trust in God be evident to all.
